Invest STL: A St. Louis region community economic development support system.
Invest STL is evolving to be a regional system that aligns investment, technical assistance, and capacity building with community economic development organizations to build healthy neighborhoods that are thriving, resilient, and livable for everyone. The system will institutionalize our region’s ability to align local and national investment behind 1) regional coordination of public, private, and philanthropic investments in impactful neighborhood revitalization projects, 2) sustained community development initiatives, and 3) professional development.
This effort has been planned and will be implemented through cross sector collaboration. We will continue to update this website as the system gets running. If you are interested in learning more about this effort or making a contribution to the loan or philanthropic pools, please contact Mary McMurtrey, Director of Community Engagement at the St. Louis Community Foundation (email: firstname.lastname@example.org).
Why Invest STL?
1. Neighborhoods matter to your quality of life
Where we call home matters to our health, our friends, and our families. Home, both the roof over our heads and the community that surrounds it, impacts the strength of our schools, the success of our children, and our opportunities. Neighborhoods greatly influence in our future.
2. We can make our neighborhoods Stronger
Over the past few decades, St. Louis has succeeded in revitalizing neighborhoods. We have regional knowledge, organizations, and passionate residents that make building on past success doable.
3. We'll accomplish more by investing together
We will have greater impact in improving our neighborhoods the more we invest together. By coordinating loan and philanthropic funding pools with technical assistance and capacity building, growing the number of strong communities increasingly will be in our future.
